VIDEO: TikToker Who Posted False HIV Claim About Actress Dayo Amusa Recounts Ordeal in Panti Cell

Popular TikTok personality, Olas, has narrated his harrowing experience inside a police detention cell at Yaba Panti, Lagos, after being arrested for falsely claiming that Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa was HIV positive.

According to Olas, he was locked up for two days, describing the incident as the worst experience of his life since the death of his mother.

“When I entered the cell, one of the rugged-looking guys told me to prostrate and greet them. The cell had no furniture, only four pit latrines and an uncovered window where mosquitoes kept entering,” he recounted.

Olas said he was horrified by the state of the latrines, which had no doors separating them from the sleeping area, leaving inmates to live with the stench.

“They told me I was lucky because that was the best cell. If it had been the second cell, I would have been beaten because there was no camera or light there,” he explained.

The TikToker revealed that he shared the cell with about 60 other inmates, who claimed it was the same facility where singer Naira Marley was once detained. He noted that while inmates slept on cold tiles, only the cell leaders had access to bunk beds.

Fortunately, Olas was recognized by one of the cell leaders, who followed him on TikTok. The leader offered him protection and gave him a bunk to sleep on, sparing him from the maltreatment usually meted out to newcomers.

Expressing gratitude to Dayo Amusa for forgiving him, Olas admitted that her decision to drop the matter saved him from prolonged detention.

“I want to thank Aunty Dayo Amusa for forgiving me. If not that she changed her mind, I would have been there for a long time. I don’t pray to ever sleep in a cell again,” he said.
