The OYSCATECH Community was thrown into mourning with your sudden demise
Both Staff and Students were speechless and perplexed at such an exit of a freedom Fighter
Just like a drama and dream
It was a bright and promising day on Thursday, September 11, 2025 as different organisations
Gathered to celebrate their day
You take pleasure in being among students
As a comrade, unionist, former Students Leader and Students’ Affairs Officer who is never tired of advocating for Staff and Students
Alas! The day latter became a black Thursday, after delivering a speech to Students who were present at the events
You were a gallant soldier, doing one of things you enjoy doing most – public speaking
Your last admonition to the students was “e je ka ma se daada” meaning they should cultivate the habit of doing the right thing
Our path crossed in 2008 when you joined the services of OYSCATECH, Igboora
You love writing articles, what a fearless and courageous man
So I take delight in publishing some of your writings being a media expert and fellow Administrator
A highly intellectual, renowned, cerebral, courageous and celebrated leader, dutiful and vocal
A seasoned Administrator and Deputy Registrar of note from Oyo town who succeeded in
Representing his people very well
A prolific writer, public speaker and advocate
Though short but impactful
You have succeeded in putting your footprints on the sands of time
You came, saw and conquered
But your sudden departure has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill
Igboora will miss you
The Administrators will miss you
Students and Comrades will miss you
Oyo town will miss its illustrious son
Friends, Associates and Family will miss you
As you are laid to rest, May Allah receive your return
Adieu a fearless Freedom Fighter – Alhaji Onike Rahman
