Uwa’s rape case: Buhari reacts, orders police to bring all culprits to justice

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered for a quick and productive investigation into the case of the UNIBEN student that was raped and murdered by some unscrupulous individuals.

Buhari who condoled with the family of the victim called for the Nigeria Police force to ensure that all the culprits of the dastardly act are arrested and brought to justice.

The president made the declaration on Tuesday via his verified Twitter handle, @mbuhari

The president expressed the hope that the police would do a diligent investigation into the matter to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

He tweeted:

“I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Uwaila Omozuwa. I expect the Nigeria Police Force to speedily and diligently investigate this case and ensure that all the culprits responsible for this barbaric act are brought to justice,” President Buhari tweeted.

Recall that an 100-level UNIBEN student, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa was raped in a church in Benin last week. The culprits after raping her, hit her severally with a fire extinguisher which led to death, days after she was admitted in the hospital.

Uwa was able to narrate her ordeal before she gave up the ghost.
