Sunday Igboho is a popular Yoruba activist who came to the limelight after issuing a week ultimatum for Fulani herdsmen in Ibarapa to leave the region.
In a video shared by Sunday Igboho’s spokesman on Facebook, the activist was spotted explaining how God showed him that He is his protector during a communal clash.
He narrates:
‘During the crisis in Modakeke when the war was getting more fierce, someone stood with a calabash on his head and people said he was sent to bring sacrifice to Modakeke.
Everyone started shooting at him. They sent for me and I showed up with my motorcycle. I also shot at him several times but he was not moved. I shot many times at close range but nothing happened to him. I asked people to stop shooting at him and I went to capture him alive. I recited some incantations and people shot at me from the other side as I was walking towards the man.
When I got to him, I discovered that he was not in his right mind. Then I fear God. So all the charms we tied to our bodies are not useful. When I got home, I marvelled at the greatness of God. With my charms, so God is my protector! The man is still in Modakeke up till today. God is telling us that He is our protector. Whatever I am today, I must fear God.’
