•As Hon. Alimi leads aggrieved APC members back to party fold
The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban on Wednesday received thousands of defectors from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressive Congress (APC) in his constituency.
While Madam Mojisola Olushola and Ademola Omotosho led their followers who were in their thousands to the political party, Hon. Kazeem Alimi who belonged to Camp of Adebayo Adelabu in APC led the aggrieved members back into the party fold.
Hon. Jagaban while receiving the defectors commended the efforts of the new members and their leaders who led them to APC in the local government.
According to him, Hon. Omotosho was PDP candidate who contested against him in 2019 noting that while he came first, Hon. Omotosho came second. He therefore noted that now Hon. Omotosho and other notable politicians are in APC, victory is sure for APC come 2023 general elections.
Hon. Jagaban commended the leaders in the party from state to ward level for the steadfastness in ensuring the success of APC to win all elective positions in the forthcoming elections.
He said: “the crowd here is impressive. Somebody earlier today said APC members in Ibadan North may fight but when it comes to electioneering period, they get their acts together to achieve success. Our blessings are enormous in Ibadan North with good leaders who are working hard for the success of the party.
Earlier in his speech, one of the leaders in the local government, Alh. Oladeji Bao encouraged the party members to win more supporters into the party and to support their candidates.
He said: ” 2023 general elections is not about religious sentiments. Therefore, preach to people around you that the forthcoming elections are about voting for our people. We should also appealed to the aggrieved members in the party so we can win all elective positions “
Hon. Alimi while speaking with our reporter said: “The storms is over. No more factions, no more factions in APC. So, I’m back and better to the mainstream platform of my great party, APC in Ibadan North.
“Though, I’m in APC before, but with Alh Wale Sanusi’s group. Meanwhile, myself and my team did not follow him to Accord party. We are now set to be, officially, back and welcome to Hon Akinremi’s fold, which is the mainstream podium of APC in Ibadan North Local Government”, Hon. Alimi revealed.
