An exposé into many atrocities of the displaced Sarkin Fulani in Igangan, Soliu Abdulkadir and his gang in Oyo State have been uncovered.
In a video by Tribune Online, the secretary to Igangan farmers, Mr. Adeagbo Taiwo has revealed how politicians and traditional rulers contributed to farmers’ plights in the hands of Fulani herdsmen in the town and its environs.
According to Adeagbo, the displaced Seriki Fulani in the Town, Soliu invited the his kinsmen from other countries to torment the indigenes of the town.
He said: “When this problem started, Soliu brought his fellow Fulani men from other countries to cause trouble here. Although, things have gotten out of hands before Engr. Seyi Makinde becomes governor but politicians started all these problems.
“The Fulanis will use cows to destroy our farm produce and if we complain, they will say they owns our lands that their father, Usman Dan Fodio supposed to have taken our lands and they were here to seize the land from us. They even added that it when we are alive that we fight over land, that they will kill us.
“We use to tell government officials all these but instead, they turn deaf ears to our complaints. Ibarapa Central and North is near to border of Benin Republic and that’s where they brought in arms into the town to torment us.
“We do tell our local government chairmen but didn’t do anything.
The displaced Seriki Fulani ordered his men to kidnap people in the town at will anytime he needs human blood. I have approached him severally but he would want to bribe me. And after I have been rejecting his bribe, he started sending hired assassins after me”, he stated.
In the video, Mr. Adeagbo showed pictures of victims of Fulani herdsmen who were killed and maimed by them and how the displaced Seriki Fulani used his connection with his people in Abuja to win the cases.
