Passengers experienced unbearable heat during an Azman Air flight from Abuja to Lagos on December 10, 2021.
Aside a 3-hour delay which was announced to have been caused by “operational hitches” by the airline only 20 minutes to the 12pm scheduled flight time, passengers endured scorching heat for 15 minutes after boarding before the airplane took off.
No explanation was made by officials of the airline until the plane was about to land in Lagos when a captain announced that the heat was as a result of an electric fault. He then apologized.
Passengers had to resort to hand-fanning themselves while the heat lasted.
One of the passengers told Newspeakonline: “This is appalling. How can passengers be subjected to roasting experience in an airplane they paid to offer a comforting service? I’ve never seen this kind of treatment in my life. To worsen the experience, no official offered explanation for the unpleasant condition. It was really, really, a bad experience.”
