This is a throwback video where the immediate past governor of Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi who was announced dead today said he prayed that he dies at 70 years of age.
The governor stated this during this year Ramadan program at Splash FM in Ibadan.
According to him, he used to pray that he dies at 70 years of age but when he started approaching the septuagenarian age and he started enjoying life, he changed his prayer to live longer than the age.
“When I was 40 year old, I prayed that I died at 70 because my dad was two months to age 70 years of age when he died. But when I was approaching 70 and I saw life is sweet, I prayed I die at 96”.
Recalled that the former governor thanked God for longevity while revealing that none of his family members lives up to 70 years of age during his 70th birthday celebration last year December.
The death of the governor was announced today after a protracted illness which was made worsened by COVID-19 ailment.
He had as a result went into coma for over two weeks during which he was earlier announced dead but was refuted by aides and family members.
It was also gathered that Ajimobi had given up his ghost since while he was still on life support machine.
The former governor died at age of 70 years.
