A father of two and a welder, Modupe Oni have been sentenced to life Imprisonment by a High court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital for raping a minor.
Oni bagged life imprisonment after he was found guilty of forcefully having the carnal knowledge of a four-year-old girl.
The convict, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of rape preferred against him, reported to have committed the offence at his residence at Ifon in Ose Local Government area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that committed the heinous crime when the victim came to buy some peanuts from his wife who was not at home.
The welder capitalized on the situation as he lured the victim into his room and raped her.
Following the development, the victim narrated her ordeal to her parent when she got home which prompted them to rush to the hospital where test confirmed forceful penetration.
During trial, Prosecuting Counsel, Oluwaseun Akeredolu, called four witnesses while the convict testified for himself.
The convict denied the allegations but Justice Samuel Bola observed that his denial was contrary to his statement to the police
Delivering her judgement, Justice Bola, who commended the victim from speaking out, held that evidences before showed that Modupe committed the act.
The father of two who was consequently found guilty of the crime, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
