Daily Trust reporter Charles Eyo has the question he asked that led to the insult received by Femi Fani Kayode, the Minister of Civil Aviation.
In the video, Femi Fani-Kayode was seen angrily reprimands the Eyo, Daily Trust journalist for asking “stupid questions.”
In a telephone interview with the BBC, Eyo revealed that his questioning was part of what Fani Kayode had told reporters he had visited during the 33rd visit of Governor Ben Ayade to Cross River. See that it is good, and go and see what the other six state governors have done.
“Then I asked him,” Haven’t you told us who is paying for these trips you went? “
“That was the question that prompted Femi Kani Kayode to rebuke and promise to complain to the owners of the Daily Trust”.

Eyo testified that as Fani Kayode promised to fire him on the film, he called their company owner and asked them to fire him but they did not fire him.
He said his boss did not release the incident on Thursday as he handed it over to them. Instead, they apologized when the video was released on social media.
Eyo went on to say that he was not upset that he asked Fani Kayode the question, but that he was saddened that he told Fani-Kayode that he was sorry after he asked the question.
