Canadian born singer and songwriter, Jonathan Steingard has revealed a deep secret that he has carried on for years in his heart.
The Gospel singer, despite being born into a Christian home and a pastor’s son has disclosed his final resolve on the existence of God. He no longer believes there is a creator (God).
The singer said he has now chosen another path which is entirely different from Christianity or doing Gospel music. He added that he had already shared his new resolution with his crew members who are now into different jobs outside the faith.
According to Jonathan while sharing his opinion, he did not just come up with the conclusion at this time, but that the thought has been nurtured in his heart for a long time until now that he was able to voice out.
He explained that this is not to stir up a debate but to encourage those who are in the same view to voice out.
He said, “I’ve been terrified to post this for a while – but it feels like it’s time for me to be honest. I hope this is not the end of the conversation, but the beginning. I hope this is encouraging to people who might feel the same but are as afraid to speak as I am. I want to be open. I want to be transparent with you all – and also open to having my heart changed in the future. I am not looking for a debate at all – just a chance to share my story in the hopes some good can come from it. I love you all.”
Steingard originally joined Hawk Nelson in 2004 as its lead guitarist, and became the lead vocalist after founder Jason Dunn’s exit from the band in 2012.
