Four exceptional students have been awarded scholarships through Paradigm Initiative’s (PIN’s) Ajegunle Legacy Project, propelling their futures to brighter heights.
After a meticulous four-month screening process conducted by the organization, the winners were officially revealed and celebrated at an event held at Paradigm Initiative’s headquarters in Lagos. Loved ones, the selection team, and PIN Board member Dr. Oluseyi Adebayo Olubi were present to honor the recipients.
Anthony Maduamaka Ihejiamatu, a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Lagos in Nigeria, emerged as the male recipient of the Taiwo Bankole Award. Adeniran Esther, a student of Project Management Technology at The Federal University of Technology Akure in Nigeria, was the female awardee. In the advanced software training scholarship category (Ajegunle Legacy Scholarship), Ogar Gideon Robert was selected in the male category, and Idowu Sarah Sylvester was chosen in the female category.
In April 2023, Paradigm Initiative launched the Ajegunle Legacy Scholarship as a means of giving back to the community and recognizing individuals who played a vital role in PIN’s early beginnings in Ajegunle. Named after the area, the scholarship was established to support local youth in their pursuit of university education.
The Ajegunle Legacy Project comprises two components: the prize arm and the scholarship arm. The prize arm provides support for two young individuals (one male and one female) from low-income families residing in Ajegunle to attain university education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or Law annually. The prize is named after the late Taiwo Bankole Ogunyemi, a dedicated volunteer at PIN’s digital inclusion program, aiming to honor his contribution to the lives of young people, particularly in Ajegunle.
On the other hand, the scholarship arm supports two young individuals (one male and one female) from low-income families in Ajegunle to receive advanced software development training annually.
