The acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu on Wednesday during an official visit to EFCC, Ibadan zonal office said that the anti-graft agency will rehabilitate and reabsorb the internet fraudsters into the society.
Magu who was responding to questions from journalists on raid of men of the anti-graft agency on night club in Ibadan said the invasion of EFCC’s men into the nightclub was not a usual raid but a deliberate action following a credible information from reliable sources.
He said: “We didn’t just raid Yahoo boys at the Ibadan nightclub, we got genuine information about the suspected fraudsters and a reason our men arrested them.
“And what we do is, we arrest to rehabilitate and reabsorb them back into the society. These are small boys who are intelligent, they can be useful. So, we can find a way to bring them back so that they can be useful for the country.
“So, we go to nightclubs when we are sure they are 419ners. We are not raiding club, we went after Yahoo boys and we do that when we have credible intelligence”, Magu said.
