An old video has surfaced of the late singer Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, explaining what happened to him when arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in 2020.
The video which surfaced on Saturday on social media shows the late 27-year-old in a hospital bed, saying he was given something strange to drink while in custody.
He also claimed that his then label mate Zinoleesky snitched on him.
“I was made to drink a substance I knew nothing about, but every other person wasn’t given that same drink. They said I was always on drugs, I’ve always trusted them with my heart and that’s why they were able to do this to me. I was even saying Zinoleesky when my head was held with a gun! The same Zinoleesky now snitched on me and did me dirty. Heavenly father is my witness, I can’t lie against them,” he said in Yoruba.
Mohbad was confirmed dead by his family through a statement on Tuesday.
He was laid to rest on Wednesday in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The police on Thursday released a statement saying they would probe the death of the ‘Feel Good’ singer after his petition against Sam Larry, an associate of Naira Marley, over alleged assault surfaced on social media.
Mohbad had a son with his girlfriend Omowunmi.
