Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has congratulated Dr Zacchaeus Adedeji, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Revenue, on his appointment as Acting Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service(FIRS).

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan.

Alli said that Adedeji’s appointment was not just a testament to his outstanding track record in public service, but recognition of his immense contributions towards national growth and development.

The lawmaker said that Adedeji as Special Adviser to the President has exhibited a high level of competence, dexterity and commitment in the discharge of his duties.

He said that Adedeji’s appointment as Acting Chairman of FIRS, a critical institution in revenue generation and management of Nigeria’s resources, was well-deserved.

“We hereby congratulate Dr. Zacchaeus Adedeji on his recent appointment as the Acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

“This appointment is not just a testament to his outstanding track record in public service but also a recognition of his immense contributions towards national growth and development,” he said.

Alli, the Senate Committee Chairman on INEC, said that Adedeji possessed the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience to steer the affairs of FIRS.

The lawmaker expressed confidence in Adedeji’s capability to further strengthen the agency’s capacity towards achieving its mandate of revenue collection and administration.

He said that the appointment was coming at a time when Nigeria needed individuals with deep sense of professionalism and integrity to manage critical institutions such as FIRS.
