Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has distanced himself from the agitation for secession after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fani-Kayode on Thursday met President Muhammadu Buhari and was formerly presented as the latest addition to the APC at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Fani-Kayode explained that he was a founding member of the APC and has returned to the party to unite Nigeria.
Asked about his promises to Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, the former PDP chieftain said he no longer has anything to do with the agitation for secession.
“I have nothing to do with the call for Yoruba Nation anymore, I think we need to come together to unite Nigeria. We are stronger and better together as one country,” he said.
Asked about his promises to Igboho that he will always be by his side, the former campaign director for Goodluck Jonathan in 2019 said Igboho is in court.
“I don’t want to speak on the Igboho matter because he is in court in Benin Republic. We should allow law take its course.
Fani-Kayode also claimed that he will bring Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde to the APC.
