Pandemonium said to broke out on Saturday as fully armed policemen swooped on women observing the bimonthly prayer meeting founded by wife of immediate former governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi.
It was gathered that the bimonthly prayer meeting organized by Women’s Intercessory Network which was founded by the former First Lady was disrupted by men in uniform who reportedly beat the women away from the venue.
One of the members of the WIN, who preferred anonymity said she was coming from Omi-Adio in Ido Local Government area of the state when she received call that fully armed policemen had disrupted the program.
LiveTimes gathered that the venue of the program was later fixed at Word Communication Ministry (WOCOM) located in Ibadan South-East in the state whose General Overseer is the husband of key member of the WIN, Pastor (Mrs) Omowunmi Popoola.
It would be recalled that before the former wife of the State Governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi left office, she had told the congregants that should would discuss with the new First Lady to continue the prayer meeting when she assumes office.
But it seems that the new First Lady, Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde had declined Mrs. Ajimobi’s proposal or Mrs. Ajimobi did not eventually discuss it with her.
