•Mrs. Florence Ajimobi

The wife of the Oyo State Governor, Dr Florence Ajimobi has lamented on the length mischief makers from the opposition will go in fighting for relevance and cheap popularity in just a few hours to general elections.

The wife of the governor said this when she received a delegation of Labaowo Market traders, Ogunpa, who were led on a solidarity and endorsement visit by the Chairman, Ibadan West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Prince Yomi Adefusi, Aleshinloye, Ibadan.

Mrs Ajimobi expressed her discontentment with a voice-note making the rounds which has a cloned version of her voice discrediting the eligibility and credibility of some ruling All Progressives’ Congress candidates in the forthcoming election.

She therefore urged the Nigerian voting population to be wary of impostors who peddle false content and fake news to curry sympathy and pity votes but should look beyond the emotional blackmail and vote for the candidates who will offer the best representation and good governance.

The President of the Labaowo Market, Alhaji Sikiru Olayiwola said the rumour making the rounds that the market leadership has endorsed the candidate of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) for Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Soji Akanbi, is unfounded and is also a blatant lie.

The president asserted that the candidate’s party only cashed in on the fact that the Senator donated a solar powered system for street lights within the market, which is a means of redeeming the pledge he made during his campaign in 2015.

He therefore affirmed that the party is fully APC and is in support of all their programmes and candidates adding that the market is in support of Governor Abiola Ajimobi for Oyo South Senatorial district.

The chairman of Ibadan west LCDA, Prince Yomi Adefusi, said that the market and indeed the entire local government is progressive and is fully APC affiliated and will not in any wise or under any circumstance lean towards any other party.

He said the donation made by the senator is an obligation he was charged and elected to do and cannot induce the market traders to follow anyone who resorts to do his duty at the last minute to attract relevance.
