Following an allegation levelled against the former Rector of Adeseun Ogundoyin, Polytechnic, in Eruwa, (formerly The Ibarapa Polytechnic) Mr Iyiola Eyitayo, by the chairman of the governing council of the institution, Dr Samuel Ogundiran, that the Rector was threatening his life, the Rector has described the allegation as baseless and a big lie.
Iyiola made this known on Sunday during a telephone interview to say his own angle of the story.
In his word, Eyitayo noted that he didn’t have anything against the governing council chairman, adding that the threat to the life allegation levelled against him by Ogundiran was baseless and far from the truth.
According to him ‘Ogundiran was not my chairman anymore because the governing council has been dissolved on Wednesday by the present government in Oyo State, saying he doesn’t need to be exchanging word with him.
“Am not taking any directive from him again because i don’t have anything to do with him again, the allegation was baseless because I was in Ibadan the time he was saying they attacked the acting registrar, although the man was my staff, I don’t even know his house talkless of knowing his whereabout, so how can I go to Eruwa to attacked someone?”, he queried.
Eyitayo emphasised that the management team was not suspended, but they only go for their annual leave, noting that there should not be any acting management when the current one were on their leave.
“The governing council chairman said we should go on compulsory leave in a meeting held on 3rd of May, he has singlehandedly sent a letter to us to proceed on leave which the Oyo State government queried him that he can not do that without calling us to hear our own view.”
Eyitayo reiterated further that there was a letter signed by the former Oyo State commissioner for education, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela on behalf of the state government that the management team should go on leave and come back to their position after they finished their leave.
He however said if truly someone has been calling Ogundiran and threatened him of his life, then he should take the phone number of the person to the service provider so that they can tracked the owner and made him/her to face the wrath of the law, “for me, I dont know anything about all the false information going around”, he said in the telephone conversation.
