The meeting of leaders of Ogbomoso North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ended in chaos on Tuesday as members loyal to the local government chairman Hon Kabir Ayoade distrupted the meeting.
A meeting of party leaders which was fixed for Dr Saka Balogun a former Chief of Staff to Gov Adebayo Alao Akala, was called to debliberate on the guidelines lay down by the party on local government election.
It was gathered that 16 leaders were invited for the meeting for harmonization and but the disenchanted factional team led by a former member of the Governorship Advisory Council GAC who had concluded plans to returned the chairman Hon Kabir Ayoade and others stormed the venue with their loyalists who forcefully gained their entrance into the Dr Balogun’s sitting room where others are already seated.
They bypassed the security check and rushed in to the sitting room of Dr Saka Balogun where they distorted the proceedings and forced the meeting to an abrupt end.
It took the intervention of the security officers to prevent some of the leaders from being attack by the stern looking mobs who are using abusive songs and fowl languages to embarass the leaders.
Effort to reach the chairman Hon Kabiru was in vain as his line was not reachable but a source in his camp who preferred anonymity said they mobilize their supporters to the venue of the meeting to protect their interest and prevent the move by some elders to stop Kabiru’s retun as chairman.
