Oyo NUJ holds 5th Shina Peller Ramadan lecture

The Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oyo State Council says the 5th edition of the annual Shina Peller Ramadan Lecture/Iftar will hold on Saturday, April 8, 2023 by 4pm.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Alhaji Ademola Babalola and Secretary, Sola Oladapo.

The lecture scheduled to hold at the Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Press Centre Iyaganku Ibadan, would be chaired by the Sponssor, Hon. Shina Peller(Accord-Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa), who is also the Ayedero of Yorubaland.

The union said that the lecture entitled ‘Inescapable Rewards of Kept, Unkept Promises in Public Offices: The Islamic Perspective’ would be delivered by a renown Saudi Arabia-trained Islamic Scholar and prominent Alfa in the Chief Imam of Ibadanland-Council,
Sheikh Hashim Atere.

It is said that the lecture was apt and timely ahead of the inauguration of newly elected public of holders at the just concluded general elections.

According to the union, the lecture aims at sensitizing current and elected public office holders on the need to keep their electioneering promises.

“It will highlight the rewards inherent in keeping and not keeping promises as stated in the Holy Quran.”

The union appreciated Shina Peller who had consistently sponsored the annual lecture with great commitment, praying that Almighty Allah continue to bless him bountifully.

It said that the lecture scheduled to commence by 4.00 p.m, would be rounded up at 7.00 p.m with Iftar (breaking of fast) at the same venue.
