OYSCATECH Rector commends Adeolu Akande for donating 100 Laptops to school and birthday honour

The Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi has commended Prof. Adeolu Akande, the immediate past Chairman of Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) for facilitating the donation of 100 laptops to the institution. 

Prof. Akinlabi gave the commendation while receiving the former NCC Chairman, Prof. Adeolu Akande who was represented by Hon. Niyi Adeagbo at the ICT centre of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

Prof. Akande was in Igboora for the 60th Anniversary lecture of Igboora High School and the commissioning of 100 laptops donated to the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora by the NCC. The Rector who could not hide his joy revealed that the donation would assist the institution to satisfy the latest JAMB requirement for CBT centres to upgrade her systems to laptops.

He added that the Oyo state College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora still needs additional 100 laptops in order to maintain her status as JAMB CBT Centre.Prof. Akinlabi extolled the good virtues of Prof. Adeolu Akande as a visionary leader who used his good office to advance the course of education in Nigeria. He prayed God to satisfy Prof. Akande with wisdom, good health and long life in his service to humanity, while presenting a special birthday cake to him.

The Rector used the opportunity to call on well-meaning Nigerians as well as sons and daughters of Ibarapa land to support the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora by donating facilities such as lecture halls, classrooms, staff offices, laptops and many more for the advancement of the institution.In his response, Prof. Akande appreciated the management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora for the warm welcome while pledging to always contribute his quota to the development of the society.

The OYSCATECH ICT Director, Mrs Oluwatoyin Adeagbo who welcomed Prof. Akande’s team to the ICT centre further explained that in the last nine years, the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora had been the only CBT centre in Ibarapa land until in 2023 when it could not participate as JAMB CBT.
