One person has been reportedly killed, while others injured after a reckless driver allegedly crutched pedestrian to death in Samonda area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to an eyewitness, Mohammed Malik, “the incident happened around 5:45pm, the Toyota Sienna LE Bus was seen highlighting from Aerodrome Estate and faced University of Ibadan (UI) road before the car hited the victim who was about to take a bike to his destination.
The deceased, known as Lekan, who is a father of four children meet his untimely death after the car crutched him together with the bike man he wanted to take.
“Four people were in the car when the incident happened, only the driver was arrested while other occupants fled for their lives when angry mob lunched attack on them and later set the car ablazed.”
The corps of the deceased has taken away by men of the Nigerian Police Force, Sango Division, while the second victim (the bike man) who was critically injured has been taken to University College Hospital (UCH) for treatment.
While contacted on phone, the Police Public Relation Officer of the Oyo Police Command, SP. Olugbega Fadeyi confirmed the incident, saying that he has not been properly briefed about the incident.
