As Ibadanland prepares for the historic coronation of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025, former Oyo State Commissioner for Education and immediate past Federal Character Commissioner, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to the monarch-designate.
In a congratulatory message, Olowofela described Oba Ladoja as a man of vision, wisdom, and resilience whose reign, he believes, will usher in a new era of peace, unity, and socio-cultural advancement in Ibadanland.
He noted that the former governor’s ascension to the throne represents a blend of modern leadership experience and traditional authority, which he said will strengthen the cultural heritage of Ibadan people while fostering development across the ancient city.
“Oba Rashidi Ladoja has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the progress of Ibadanland and Oyo State at large. His wealth of experience in governance, coupled with his deep-rooted love for the people, will no doubt translate into a purposeful reign,” Olowofela stated.
The scholar-politician urged indigenes and residents of Ibadanland to rally around the incoming Olubadan and support his vision for a peaceful and prosperous kingdom.
The coronation of Oba Ladoja, popularly referred to as Arusa I, is scheduled to take place at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, in what is expected to be a grand ceremony drawing dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond.
