VIDEO: Outrage as BBNaija Housemates Engage in Explicit Acts in Pool, Nigerians Demand Show Suspension

The ongoing season of Big Brother Naija has stirred fresh outrage and renewed calls for its suspension after a sexually explicit incident involving housemates Bright Morgan and Mide  was caught on camera inside the show’s swimming pool.

In what many online users described as a “public display of indecency,” Bright was seen intimately engaging with Mide in the pool, sparking widespread reactions across social media platforms. The moment, which quickly went viral, showed Mide audibly complaining about the discomfort, uttering:
“BRIGHT wait… your thing is too big and it’s paining me…. Put it in gently.”

The controversial scene, interpreted by viewers as an actual sexual encounter, triggered condemnation from parents, activists, and even some former BBNaija fans, who say the show has “crossed the line” and no longer upholds any form of moral boundary.

One concerned user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “So now Big Brother is soft porn? They should just rebrand it and move it to a different category. This is no longer entertainment; it’s public indecency.”

Another user questioned, “How do you explain to your children what they just saw on TV? This is damaging, and it’s time the government bans BBNaija once and for all.”

The incident, mockingly described online as a “baptism” in the swimming pool, has further intensified scrutiny on the show’s producers and the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), with many demanding urgent regulation or a total ban.

As of press time, the producers of BBNaija and Multichoice Nigeria are yet to release any official statement regarding the footage or possible disciplinary action against the housemates involved.

This is not the first time the reality show has sparked public outrage over sexually suggestive or explicit content. However, this latest episode has taken the controversy to a new level, with civil society organizations threatening to petition both the NBC and the National Assembly.

Despite the backlash, some fans continue to defend the show, arguing that the housemates are adults and are responsible for their own decisions within the house. Still, the incident has reignited national debate over the boundaries of entertainment, morality, and media responsibility in Nigeria.
