The Eko Tourism Foundation (ETF) has joined the global community in commemorating World Tourism Day 2025, themed “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
According to the foundation, this year’s theme aligns with its vision of positioning Lagos as Africa’s foremost tourism destination through innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.
“Tourism remains a powerful driver of growth and job creation. With its vibrant culture, festivals, nightlife, heritage, and creativity, Lagos is uniquely placed to lead Africa’s tourism renaissance,” the foundation stated.
ETF highlighted key strategic initiatives, including the ETF Trust Fund, ETF Academy, the Experience Lagos Project, and its Annual International Conference, which are designed to build a globally competitive, locally beneficial, and environmentally responsible tourism ecosystem.
On this occasion, the foundation urged government, investors, industry players, and Lagosians to collaborate in advancing Lagos’s tourism agenda.
“Together, we can make Lagos not only Nigeria’s commercial hub but also its tourism capital — a city where the world comes to experience history, culture, innovation, and hospitality,” it added.
