From Taiwo Oluwadare, Ibadan
The Christ Apostolic Church, (CAC) Worldwide at the weekend held a send-off service for her out-going General Secretary, Pastor Gideon Okegwemeh at All Saints’ Chapel Auditorium, Basorun, Ibadan.
Speaking during the send-off service, the President of CAC, Pastor Abraham Akinosun said Pastor Okegwemeh has rendered a selfless service compared to the biblical King David.
According to him, the intrinsic qualities of David is replicated in him like obedience to God, humility, forgiven spirit, faithfulness and loving the church just like David loved Israelites.
He added that Pastor Okegwemeh is a bundle of intelligence that attracts people to learn from him saying it can be seen from his voluntary retirement that it is borne out of love to ensure smooth running of the church.
Also the General Evangelist of the church, Prophet Samuel Abiara described the outgoing General Secretary as paragon of virtues who is faithful in all that he is entrusted with and who has served the ministry with all his might, a reason his send-off service attracted all and sundry from all walks of life to witness the occasion.
He maintained that he had rendered service to God worthy to be remembered after he pass away as he prayed for him to spend his remaining life in tranquillity.
The honouree however thanked God for giving him the opportunity to have served the church saying that rest is necessary after a labour, a reason he is going on a voluntary retirement.
He said it is grace of God and readiness to serve that earned him the celebration as he encourage people to serve in any capacity they find themselves with all might and diligence.
